Spookalicious Halloween cookies part 2

Oooookkkayyy, actually I wanted to upload the photos of the finished cookies yesterday, buuut we had so good weather that I just had to go running. I'm so sorry :(.
As its was my first time using royal icing, I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome but they're alright.
Also the light today was horrible as it was cloudy and dark all day long so bear with me.

Like I said I'm not satisfied with the cookies but for the first time not bad.

Here you can see how I put some of them into cellophane bags. My mom had the idea to give those cookies away on Halloween to the kids when they're "trick or treating". But not these. I will be baking and frosting more of them next week, so that they're fresh.

For the royal icing I used:

4 egg whites
5-6 cups (600-720g) Powdered sugar
1 1/2 Tsp. Lemon juice

1. Start beating the egg whites with an electric mixer. When it start to get stiff, add the lemon juice and the powdered sugar until it has the desired consistency. It should be thick enough to not run off the cookies but it should be pipable. If it's not thick enough add more powdered sugar.

If you don't want to use raw eggs, you can also use merengue powder, which you mix with water and powdered sugar. In Germany it is available at meincupcake.de by Wilton. 10 g are used as a substitute for 2 egg whites.

I hope you also bake some cool Halloween stuff, because I really love Halloween.

XOXO Owlicious
