Hazelnut sticks.
At first they may sound not so lovely, but once you taste them, I swear you get addicted to them. When they are baked they are crumbly and flaky, but ohh so yummy, and when the ends are covered with chocolate it makes them perfect.
For about 50 sticks you'll need:
1 3/4 cup(200g) Flour
1 3/4 cup(200g) ground Hazelnuts
1/2 cup(100g) Brown sugar
3/4 cup +2 Tbsp.(200g) Butter
For dipping the ends into chocolate you'll need to melt about 7 ounces (200g) of chocolate.
1. Sift the flour and sugar into a large bowl. Add ground hazelnuts and butter, and mix it all together until you have a pliable dough.
2. Flatten dough into disc and wrap in plastic. Put the dough into the fridge and let it chill for an hour or over night.
3. Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
Take dough out of the fridge. Cut of a piece, and knead it shortly so that it is softer and roll into a sausage with a diameter of about 1cm(1/2inch) and cut into 5 cm(2 inch) long sticks. Place them on the baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until they're starting to get golden brown.
4. When you want to( you don't have to because they're delicious as they are) you can dip the ends into chocolate to make them even more sinful and yummy. I also sprinkled chopped and roasted hazelnuts onto the still molten chocolate to add a little chrunch to it.
With a glass of milk or a hot cocoa they are perfect to get tuned in for christmas or when you have guest over for a cup of coffee.
If you try them and you like them, please let me know. Feedback is like chocolate for my motivation to make this blog better.
XOXO Owlicious
