Day 5: Snowflakes

Another cookie recipe I did for the first time this christmas season, and they rock!!
These cookies are named snowflakes, because they practically melt in your mouth. And they are addictive, seriously.
My mom loves them so much, I have to make a second batch soon.
The vanilla flavor, comes out really good and strong which suits those cookies, and once you tried them, you will love them, I promise.

For those delicious, yummy, wonderful, delighting cookies you'll need:

2 cups+ 1 Tbsp.(250g) Starch( sounds weird, but because of the starch you get the melting effect)
1 cup+ 2 Tbsp.(250g) Butter
3/4 cup+ 1 Tbsp.(100g) Flour
3/4 cup+ 1 Tbsp.(100g) Powdered Sugar
1/2 Tsp. Salt
Pulp of one Vanilla bean

Some powdered sugar for dusting the finished cookies

1. Sift the starch, flour, powdered sugar and salt into a large bowl. Cut the butter into cubes and add those to the dry ingredients. Scrape out the pulp of the vanilla beans and add this to the other ingredients too.

2. Swiftly process the ingredients into a dough.
roll the dough into 3, 3 cm/1 inch diameter sausages, wrap those into plastic and put into fridge for about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 320°F/160°C top- and bottom heat.

3. Take one of the sausages out of the fridge. Cut into 0,5cm/0,2inch thick slices and roll those into beads.

4. Put the beads on a parchment paper covered baking sheet( you can put them pretty close to each other), and press them down gently with a flour covered fork, so that the dough wont stick to much to it.

While they're baking, and incredible aroma is starting to waft around your kitchen, it makes you stand in front of the oven to wait for them to finally finish baking so that you can taste one.

Let the cookies cool down and if you want to, you can sprinkle them with some powdered sugar, which I think makes them look even more like snowflakes ;)

Don't they look great??
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

XOXO Owlicious
