The most amazing, delicious and scrumptious Blueberry Muffins( seriously though)

OMG!!
Actually I wanted to post this yesterday, but then I got all excited about the football games( No I don't means soccer, because I could care less about that, and yes I do mean American Football, and also yes they're broadcasting it in Germany) and the Golden Globes, that I forgot about it😣.
So I'm going to post this recipe today.
The headline may sound exaggerated, but it is not. These Blueberry Muffins really are the best there are.
I remember the summer I made them the first time. My brother and my sister ate a whole batch in, I don't know, maybe 2-3 hours and then begged me to make more because they were that good.
January actually isn't a month for Blueberries, at least not in good ol' Germany. So i was so excited that my mom got so many for a good price and fabulous taste, that I decided to make muffins. And when I told this my family my brother literally started salivating.
I use double the amount of Blueberries as the recipe calls for. I mean when I have a Blueberry Muffin I want as much Blueberries in it as possible, won't I? And more Blueberries means that the Muffin will be nice and juicy.
Don't you just love it when the Blueberry juices start to come out of the Muffins too???

For 12 Blueberry Muffins you'll need:
1 3/4 cup(225g) Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp. Lemon zest
3/4 cup(170g) Sugar
1 Stick(125g)Butter
1 Large egg
1/2 cup+2 Tbsp.(125ml) Buttermilk
9 Ounces(250g) Blueberries(this is the amount I use), if you can't get fresh ones, use frozen Blueberries

1. In a medium size bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add the lemon zest. Set aside.
Melt the butter( either in a pan or in the microwave) and mix together with the sugar.
Mix together the buttermilk and the egg and add to the butter-sugar mix. Stir well.
In 2-3 steps add the flour mixture.
If batter is too thick, add more buttermilk until you have your desired consistency.

2. Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
Line a muffin tin with paper cups.
If you haven't already done it, sort and wash the Blueberries. Try to let all the water drop out of the sieve, so that you won't get too much water into your batter.
Iy you're using frozen berries, don't let them thaw.
Carefully fold the berries under the batter.

3. Fill the cup 2/3 full and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Try one when they're still slightly war, delicious!!!!!
These are great for on the go or as a snack or for work.
And super easy to make too. Impress whatever guest you have by making these. People will love you because of them.

XOXO Owlicious ;)
