Basic Pie Dough

When you are making a pie, whether it is apple, blueberry, pecan or any else, you need a real good pie dough, which has a good consistency, is easy to make and of course tastes great.
And for a long while, I have tried so many different recipes for a good pie dough and finally I have found one.

For the basic pie dough you'll need:
3 cups(360g) Flour
1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. Sugar
1 cup (225g )+2 Tbsp. cold Butter, cut into pieces
1/4-1/2 cup(50-100ml)ice water

1. Mix together flour, sugar and salt. Add the butter and mix until it looks like coarse crumbs, with some larger and some smaller pieces.

2. Evenly drizzle 1/4 cup of ice water and start kneading and knead till it all holds together. If the the is too dry add more water.
Knead for about 5 minutes on your working space, until the dough is smooth and pliable and doesn't crack while kneading.

3. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and flatten it into a disc. 
Put it into the fridge and let it chill for at least an hour or better over night.

This dough is slightly salty, but it tastes so good with a sweet filling. It just mixes perfect.
